Sony Blu-code is a scalable AVC and MPEG-2 software encoding solution designed to maintain the highest picture quality for the Blu-ray Disc and SD DVD formats. Depending on your requirements, Blu-code can support a large-scale distributed processing system deploying a large number of PCs for real-time encoding or run effectively on a single PC. The BAE-VX1000 also features fully integrated HD-SDI capture and playback with the Black Magic Decklink HD (not included). It has advanced customization parameters that allow for adjusting the encoded picture to provide for the best picture quality. It accurately processes scene detection and inverse 2:3 pulldown during pre-processing and fully supports the requirements of seamless multi-angle streams. - Flexible Multi-pass Encoding - The Sony BAE VX-1000 Encoder offers both fast and efficient single-pass encoding as well as powerful and optimized two-pass encoding. In the first pass of two-pass encode content is analyzed and suitable bit rates are automatically allocated. Bit assignments can be optionally adjusted, and then the second (encoding) pass is performed.
- Segment Re-encoding - Selected segments where picture quality adjustment is necessary and encode them again with customized bit rate assignment as well as adjustments to a range of other important parameters.
- Automatic Customization Function - Values are measured during the first pass of encoding and can automatically generate several candidates for bit rate allocation.
- Integrated HD-SDI capture and playback - The Blu-code encoder offers outstanding workflow efficiency with its fully integrated capture (including simultaneous pre-processing) as well as HD-SDI preview of the finished product. (Please note that this feature requires the Black Magic Decklink HD card which is not included)
- Inverse 2:3 Pull-down Processing - The Sony BAE VX-1000 effectively deals with 29.97fps telecine source material by efficiently recognizing the 2:3 pattern and generating BD compliant streams and can be manually edited during customization.
