PC Magazine Calls Napster 2.0 "The Best Online Music Store"
Long Angeles, California - (November 21, 2003) - Napster®, a division of Roxio (Nasdaq: ROXI),
announced today that PC Magazine, in it's December 9th "Napster vs. iTunes" cover story, calls Napster 2.0 the best on-line
music store. The article cited a number of factors that contribute to Napster's success:
"While all three of these stores are good efforts, Napster 2.0 (now owned by Roxio) is currently the best online music store,
thanks to its combination of winning perks: It combines a monthly subscription services with pay-per-track shopping; it has a catalog
of over 500,000 tracks (460,000 of which can be downloaded) from major and minor labels; and it offers a great user experience when
you're browsing and trying to discover new artists."
Recognizing Napster's massive 500,000 song library, the largest digital music vault in the world, the magazine said, "We were
impressed with the depth and breadth of Napster's catalog. Napster offers Billboard charts going back to 1956, providing a browser's
paradise."
In summation, PC Magazine's review of the new Napster said, "As an online music store, Napster 2.0 does its name proud with the
sheer volume of offerings and its outstanding community features."
Commenting on the PC Magazine review, Roxio CEO Chris Gorog said, "It is great to be recognized as the best by the authority
for the PC Platform. Clearly PC Magazine understands the significance of Napster being a far more complete and exciting experience
then a simple download store. By giving consumers the opportunity to download tracks and by offering the rich music discovery
experience of our Premium service, Napster has quickly established itself as the clear choice for true music fans."
