Sonic’s Integrated Suite of DVD/CD Applications Bundled with Verbatim’s DVD+/- Producer 44 Dual Format DVD Drive

Marin County, California (August 14, 2003) – Sonic Solutions (NASDAQ: SNIC) announced today that Verbatim, an industry leader in the development and manufacturing of data storage and other media products, has selected Sonic’s complete, integrated line of CD/DVD creation, copy, backup and playback applications for its new DVD+/- Producer 44 Dual Format DVD drive. Sonic’s DVD/CD suite of integrated applications includes MyDVD®, RecordNow!™, Simple Backup™ and CinePlayer™.

With a comprehensive collection of DVD and CD creation and playback applications from Sonic, Verbatim’s DVD+/- Producer 44 DVD burner gives consumers a single product for recording any type of video, photography, music or data onto DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD-R and CD-RW media, as well as a means to play back and backup their CD and DVD content. The all-in-one DVD+R/ +RW & CD-R/RW recorder is also designed to offer the widest possible playback compatibility.
