UK's Two Plus One Ltd. Expands DVD Production with Sonic

New Sonic DVD Production Systems Increase Capacity for High-end Services

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, (September 16, 2002) -
Sonic Solutions [NASDAQ: SNIC] announced today at the International Broadcast Convention (IBC) that Two Plus One, a leading professional DVD authoring facility in the UK, has expanded its DVD production capabilities with new systems and technology from Sonic. With fast-growing demand for DVD production capabilities at its Soho facility, Two Plus One is capitalizing on its strong position as a leading provider of feature-film DVD production by expanding services with the addition of multiple DVD production systems from Sonic.

The new installation, based around Sonic's powerful DVD Creator® and Sonic Scenarist® authoring systems and featuring Sonic's renowned SD-Series SD-2000 encoders, will be used to expand the firm's capacity for feature-film DVD encoding and authoring.

"We are exceptionally pleased with the authoring flexibility and reliability offered by Sonic's systems," said Clive Bourne, Director of Operations and Engineering at Two Plus One. "Our existing Sonic systems are working at full capacity, and we need to further expand. We naturally turn to Sonic because of the quality of their authoring products – and importantly also because of the high levels of technical support Sonic provides. With the pressure of intense feature film authoring, this is essential."

"We are delighted that Two Plus One has selected Sonic DVD technology to expand their DVD production capabilities," said Richard Linecar, Sonic's Director of European Operations. "Sonic's professional DVD products allow our customers to take full advantage of the intricacies of the DVD specification and produce the most compatible and compelling DVDs. With our dedicated team of DVD experts, our professional clients always have the most comprehensive technical support possible when faced with ever tightening release deadlines."
