and Sonic Partner to Bring DVD+RW Recording to Consumers
First public demonstration of Philips DVD+RW data recorder using Sonic DVDit!
Hannover, Germany (March 22, 2001) Sonic Solutions [NASDAQ: SNIC],
the world leader in DVD authoring applications, demonstrated with Philips
at CeBIT today the Philips dual-writer DVD+RW data recorder, using Sonic
DVDit! to create DVD discs that that will play on set-top and PC-based
DVD-VIdeo players. Content recorded on the Philips recorder is captured
and edited with DVDit! and written back to DVD disc, demonstrating the ease
with which a user's own video productions can be created and modified using
the new technology.

DVD+RW drives used in combination with Sonic DVDit! or MyDVD software
gives video professionals, enthusiasts and home users the power to record
movies, slide shows and photos onto DVD+RW discs that can be played on set-top
DVD players and DVD-equipped PCs. As the leading provider of DVD software
applications, Sonic's collaboration with Philips will be instrumental in
bringing this new technology to market.
