DVD Products to Market
Las Vegas, Nevada (April 23, 2001) - Sonic Solutions (NASDAQ: SNIC)
announced today that it has dramatically expanded its OEM software offerings
and its sales and OEM support organization to keep up with the growing demand
for DVD-enabling software publishing solutions and technology. Sonic is
now offering the Sonic MyDVDT, DVDit!T and DVD Fusion applications to OEMs
for bundle with DVD-recorders, CD-recorders, video editing solutions and
video capture cards. In addition to offering complete and customized applications,
Sonic is also offering its AuthorScriptT DVD publishing API as part of the
Open Authoring Initiative - enabling OEMs to incorporate DVD authoring and
recording technology directly into their PC and Macintosh application.
"With the debut of truly affordable DVD recorders this year, we are seeing
the arrival of the laser printer of video," said Mark Ely, Vice President
of Business Development at Sonic Solutions. "Since 1996, Sonic has been
working to deliver DVD authoring and publishing solutions to the Hollywood,
Corporate, Educational, and Desktop DVD production markets. With the arrival
of the new low-cost DVD recorders and our close collaboration with the leading
hardware and software vendors in this space, we are now able to bring our
leading technology to an even broader market."
