Sonic Solutions Debuts SonicStudio HD Version 1.3

Complete Feature Set For High-Density Audio Premastering

Paris, France (February 21, 2000) – Sonic Solutions debuted today its soon-to-be-released SonicStudio HD Version 1.3 at the Audio Engineering Society Convention (AES) in Paris, France. The leading solution for premastering High-density Audio™ content, SonicStudio HD is Sonic's centerpiece for preparing audio masters for a wide range of applications including DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, Super Audio CD, and CD-Audio. With its 48-bit HDSP processing engine and exclusive Sonic Clarity™ architecture, SonicStudio HD delivers the highest-quality signal processing available for commercial audio releases.

SonicStudio HD 1.3 adds significant functionality, with advanced Desk Event automation editing for synchronized sound and DSP control, and includes the following new capabilities:

  • Multiple EDLs with selectable source and destination functions
  • Enhanced Edit Fade Module (EFM) with auto-snap sample-accurate crossfade synchronization
  • Flowthrough to CD-R, DDP, and image files from Sony PCM1630 masters
  • Advanced mixing with breakpoint gain overlay functions and multi-stage, long-throw assignable mastering fader
  • Waveform display generation from Barbabatch to HDSP-converted soundfiles
