Sonic Hollywood Heritage
From the beginning, the major motion picture companies in Hollywood and around the world have relied on Sonic for the tools and expertise necessary to make the most of DVD. Sonic delivered the first commercial DVD production system in 1996. Since that time, Sonic has stayed ahead of the curve and is the software provider of choice for premier facilities worldwide. In addition to providing professional authoring systems, Sonic also delivers technologies that enable the creation of rich, interactive DVD titles through its InterActual subsidiary. InterActual technology powers unique, web-enabled bonus content on DVDs for computer playback. Over 1,500 major DVD titles are enhanced with InterActual's DVD-ROM software tools.

High Definition Professional Tools
On April 24th, Sonic released the world's first professional authoring and encoding systems, Scenarist 4 and CineVision, which will enable to enable major motion picture studios to begin the rollout of Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD commercial titles.
 
High Definition Authoring Alliance
 The HDAA is a Sonic-sponsored association of top authoring houses worldwide. The HDAA is dedicated to accelerating the development of the authoring skills, capacity, and technological infrastructure required to support rapid adoption of HD
DVD and BD optical disc formats. HDAA activities, including training and seminars, are focused in three geographical centers: Burbank, California; London, England; and Tokyo, Japan.

High Definition Authoring Alliance Advisory Group
 Sonic has expanded the High Definition Authoring Alliance (HDAA) to include an Advisory Group (HDAA AG). This group aligns leading computer and consumer electronic (CE) device manufacturers facilitating Blu-ray Disc (BD) and HD-DVD format playback with top-tier Hollywood title creators. The result is a multi-industry cooperative that will comprehensively test and validate all consumer interactions with high-definition formats and help deliver reliable, consistent, and dynamic viewing experiences across all platforms.
